Plymouth Wildcats girls cross country took charge early and held on for a dominant win against Howell High School on Saturday. With a course change this year due to Covid precautions, the Wildcats weren’t sure how the new course would be but they went out and took charge from the start and held on to win in strong fashion!
Taking 1st and 2nd place, Lauren Kiley (jr) finished with a 18:19 finish time, followed by (sr) Londyn Swenson at 18:57. Lindsay Ripple (sr) came in 4th overall with a 20:12 finish time followed by (jr) Sarah Coyne in 5th at 20:41 and the 5th scorer for the Wildcats was freshman Aliya Kurian finishing at 21:46.
“There were many great performances today”, said Coach Ahearn. “I’m really proud of all the girls and how hard they work. We have several tough teams to race ahead of us so we will need to keep this discipline and momentum in the weeks to come.
Howell did a great job organizing the race and grooming the course for our races. Parents were grateful for the spectator areas and the chance to see their athletes a few times throughout the race.”
