Quotes:
“Skyline really played us tough. They never backed down and competed like crazy. Give Coach Horne a ton of credit. His program is improving each year. I really liked the toughness over group displayed over the course of the game. We had a lot of things go wrong, but we were able to stay mentally tough and play present. Kyra Brandon is such a difference maker with the ball in her hands. She makes everyone around her better. It was great to see Angela Schmidt play a good game. She has been working her tail off to get better over the course of the last three years.”- Coach Ballard
“I’m glad we got off to a good start but I know we still have a lot of work to do.”- Angela Schmidt, Junior Forward
“The first game is all about fixing little mistakes. We came out strong but couldn’t finish layups, but we continued to fight on defense. Our press really bothered them. Together as a whole, we played really well, especially in the second half. We put every chance we could away and moved the ball well against their pressure. The game might have gotten nerve-wracking at a point, but we settled down and just had fun playing the sport we love to play.”- Becca Przybylo, Senior Forward
“We took a hit tonight losing Kendall LaFlair, it threw off our chemistry a little bit; however, I think we did a good job adjusting and we worked well together to get the win.”- Sydney McCaig, Junior Forward
