Plymouth girls definitely lived up to their season slogan this past Saturday and “(Rose) to the occasion”. Great races were turned in throughout the entire team and the team effort earned them a bit of hardware this year!
In the varsity race, 4 of our Wildcats were honored with medals finishing in the top 35 overall. Lauren Kiley (So) took first place overall with a 18:44 finish. “She ran a great consistent race.”, commented Coach Ahearn. Londyn Swenson (Jr) finished 9th overall with a 20:03 finish time. Lindsay Ripple (Jr), Paige Cristea (Jr) and Sasha Fox (So) rounded out the 5-person scoring criteria with a 21st finish (20:47), 29th finish (21:06) and a 40th finish (21:34). Mariella Ma (Fr) was right on Sasha’s heels with a 42nd place finish and a 21:39 finish time. Coach Ahearn commented, “A lot of great strides were made in today’s race. I’m proud of the effort and the grit these girls demonstrate on a daily basis.”
In the JV race, Erin Trombly (Jr) finished 3rd overall with a 22:00 finish time, deserving a big shout out from her coaches and teammates.
