The lady Wildcat cross country team showed up B.I.G. on Saturday at the Monroe Jefferson Invitational at Sterling State Park. Lauren Kiley (So) and Londyn Swenson (Jr) came across the finish line first and second to give the Wildcats a huge advantage. “The plan was to bring our 3-7 runners in closer together to give us an edge over our fierce competition and that’s just what the girls did.”, commented Coach Ahearn. Lindsay Ripple came across 17th with Paige Cristea, Sasha Fox, Mariella Ma and Erin Trombly close behind at 21st, 24th, 25th and 27th.
“All of the girls ran very smart and strong. We knew what we needed to do and we did it.” Coach Ahearn went on to say, “I need to give a big shout out to our JV athletes as well today. The weather shifted pretty quickly before their race and the conditions were pretty rough. They all ran with grit and determination and are amazing humans. I’m so proud of our team and all of our wonderful families that support us.”
