Meet Recap

The lady Wildcat runners split the double dual vs Canton and Salem on Tuesday, October 10 at Cass Benton. With all runners racing at the same time while being scored as separate dual meets, the Plymouth girls cross country team was victorious against Canton (21-40) and came up short vs. Salem (41-20).
“The race went as expected.”, commented Coach Ahearn. “Salem is a very good, fast team and we are inspired by their performance and hope to reach that level at some point. Our girls did very well, running a tough course and in some cases even PR-ing, honing their race skills just in time for the end of the season, where it’s most important.”
Scoring for the Wildcats were Londyn Swenson (9) with an amazing time of 19:47, followed closely by Arwa Harawala (12) with a time of 19:54. Rounding out the Wildcats varsity and getting on the scoreboard were Lily Tiplady (10) with a time of 21:02, Lola Merrill (9) with a time of 21:19 and Laura Bonds (10) with a time of 21:28. The final varsity runners were Paige Cristea (9) with a time of 21:29 and Rachel Glovatsky (11) with a time of 21:40.

Meet Recap

Wildcats lady runners answered the call to elevate their game on Saturday at the Wayne County Championship Invitational at Will Metro Park on Saturday, Oct. 7. The team took 2nd place led by senior Arwa Hararwala taking 6th place overall with a new PR of 19:34 and freshman Londyn Swenson close behind in 8th place with a time of 19:36 (also a new PR). That gave the Wildcats a distinct advantage over the closely contested second team spot. Rounding out the scoring for Plymouth was freshman Lola Merrill in 31st place with a new best time of 20:59, freshman Paige Cristea close behind in 38th place with a new best time of 21:11 and sophomore Lily Tiplady nearby in 43rd place with a time of 21:26. Sophomore Laura Bonds took the teams 6th Varsity spot in 48th place with a time of 21:35 and junior Rachel Glovatsky captured the 7th team spot in 54th place with a time of 21:44.

Coach Ahearn commented, “We came into the invitational with our sights set on 2nd place, knowing that it would be a tight race. The girls knew what they had to do and they did it. I’m very excited about the effort they put forth and where that puts us at this point of the season. We have to keep this momentum going right through regionals.”
