Boys Varsity Hockey · Plymouth Varsity Hockey Comes Up Just Short in Regional Finals Against Salem

Plymouth Varsity Hockey saw their season come to an end late on Saturday night. The Wildcats fell to Salem in the MHSAA Regional Finals, in overtime, by a score of 2-1.

Salem scored first, with Jacob Keegan goal with only 7.5 seconds left in the first period. The game remained 1-0, until Plymouth’s Sam Williams scored his fourth goal of the season, tied for the team lead. Williams was assisted by Anthony Cassar, with his team-leading tenth point of the season.

The third period saw Plymouth just barely missing the back of the net multiple times, hitting the goalposts on numerous shots, but after 51 minutes, both teams were tied at 1, so we headed to overtime.

Just over halfway through the first extra period, Salem’s Aidan Ross scored, giving Salem their third straight Regional Title, and ending Plymouth’s season.
