While the Plymouth Wildcat Boys cross country team raced at the Regional Meet on Saturday, the GLIAC Cross Country Championships was held at Purdue Northwest’s campus in Hammond, IN. In the race we saw three former Wildcat standouts for different teams where they raced 8,000 meters. Matthew Pahl competed for Michigan Tech, Brandon Boyd for Northwood Univ, and Ethan Byrnes for Wayne State. Pahl was able to secure first team status with a 5th place finish in 24:29. Byrnes achieved 2nd team status for the 2nd straight season with a 20th place finish in 25:11. Boyd had a solid race finishing 67th in a time of 26:19.
As leaders on former teams, Byrnes, Pahl and Boyd still reside on Plymouth’s All-Time Cross Country Record Board sitting at 3rd, 5th and 6th respectively as of today. Congrats to these athletes on their collegiate success and way to represent as former Wildcats!
