Following a runner-up finish a few weeks ago at the MHSAA State Finals, Plymouth junior Carter Solomon decided to continue into the post-season where he traveled all the way to Kenosha, WI to race at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional Cross Country Championship at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The race featured the top athletes from Michigan as well as Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Solomon finished 4th in a loaded field, and his time of 16:13.3 (slowest time of 2018) was a result of tough, muddy conditions. He was among four athletes from the state of Michigan to finish in the top 10. A fourth place finish qualified Solomon for the 40th Annual Foot Locker National Cross Country Championship.
Solomon will get to run against 39 other top athletes in the nation on December 8th at Balboa Park in San Diego, CA. Congratulations to Carter!
