In their best performance in school history at the MHSAA Div. 1 State Meet, the Plymouth Girls Track team shattered a number of school and PCEP records on their way to a 5th place finish. During the meet, the Wildcats had All-State performances in 5 events and broke 3 school and PCEP records.
The great day started in the Long Jump, as Junior Paige Sanders finished 4th place in the long jump. During the meet, Paige had three jumps over 18 feet and broke her own school and PCEP record with a jump of 18′ 6.5″.
The Wildcats continued their success in the 4×200 M Relay with a 2nd place finish. Running a time of 1:39.69, the relay team of Paige Sanders, Faith Washington, Reghan Draper, and Ryen Draper showed their strength and talent in the event and ran one of the fastest times in state history.
The success of the 4×200 was followed by a great race by the 4×100 M Relay. Erin Bradley, Paige Sanders, Delia Brennan, and Reghan Draper ran nearly a perfect race and crossed the finish line with a time of 48.90, good enough for a 7th place finish.
The banner day for the Wildcats was then capped off with the performances of senior Ryen Draper in both the 400 M and 200 M. In the 400, Ryen pushed herself up the medal podium with a 2nd place finish. Running a time of 55.63, Ryen showed her true strength and talent in the event. Ryen’s day was not done, as she ran a time of 24.86 in the finals of the 200 M Dash to earn 6th place, making this her third all-state performance of the day. In her prelim race to get her into the finals, Ryen broke her own school and PCEP record with a time of 24.38.
