On Monday, April 24th, Plymouth Volleyball Player Jordan Schamp signed her National Letter of Intent with Saint Anselm (NH). Here is her advice to current and future Wildcats about how to be successful in high school athletics and beyond.
Question 1: If you could give any advice to current and future athletes what would you say?
I would say to really just enjoy it because you never know if you will get hurt or when your last game will be. It passes so quickly. All of my high school seasons flew by and I would give anything to play another game with my teammates and best friends in the Plymouth gym. Also, never let anyone tell you that you can’t accomplish what you want to, and I know it sounds cheesy, but it is one hundred percent true. If you love a sport, keep working towards your goals and ignore others’ comments about what you can’t do.
Question 2: Why did you choose to sign with this university?
I chose Saint Anselm for an assortment of reasons. First, it was ranked nationally for criminology which is what I plan to study. Second, the coach and team were very welcoming and fun when I went on my visit. Lastly, the campus is beautiful and the school is located in Manchester, NH, which is a charming town and only 45 minutes from Boston. Overall it’s the perfect fit.
Question 3: What do you enjoy most about your last season as a Plymouth Wildcat?
I enjoyed my team and coach the most. I made so many new friends, especially my last year on the team. We made many memories and we had a blast no matter what we were doing. Also, Coach Dave made practice fun and upbeat and I looked forward to it everyday.
