Alex Ebeling, an outstanding three-sport athlete (volleyball, basketball, and soccer) scored 7 points in back to back varsity basketball games last week. She sank 4 straight free throws in the fourth quarter to help Plymouth defeat Novi 45-39. Coach Ballard said “Ebeling has a tireless work ethic. You can always count on her to get into the gym and get extra shots up. She’s an terrific help side defender. We can always count on her to play great position defense.”
Vince Hooks, a sophomore on the JV basketball team, started for the first time this season in the team’s win against Northville. Hooks made the most of the opportunity, and was perfect from the free throw line in the game.
Michael Wischer, a junior on the boys swim and dive team, performed extremely well in theKLAA South Division swim meet on Saturday, earning a division championship in the 50 freestyle, 200 medley relay (along with teammates Garret Beauprez, Bronson Knowles, and Aniketh Visai)(also a South Division record time), and second place in the 400 freestyle relay.
Kendall Keegan, a senior on the boys swim and dive team, also had a stand-out performance at the KLAA South Division Meet, earning Division Championships in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.
Shaye Timko, a sophomore on the JV basketball team (also lacrosse), put up 10 points this week in games vs. Novi and Canton. Coach Flaherty says, “Shaye is always one that is positive to her teammates. It’s rare you will see her without a smile. On Friday’s game she got the ball rolling for our team with two big buckets early in the second quarter.”
Alex Oliverio is a sophomore on the Plymouth Varsity Competitive Cheer team (also lacrosse). Alex is a very talented athlete and pushes herself to be the best she can be. Alex has competed in all 3 rounds in every competition of the season. Alex had her best performances of her career on Friday night at Districts helping her team qualify for Regionals.
Tara Brick (pictured above, photo M. Vasilnek) is also a sophomore on the Varsity Competitive Cheer team. Tara is a huge part of the success of this Wildcats’ breakthrough season. Tara is a fierce and flexible flyer who has worked hard all season to perfect her skills. Tara hit 2 flawless rounds on Friday to help push her team into 3rd place. With the top 4 teams advancing to Regionals, Plymouth Cheer is Regional bound for the first time in the schools history.
