Taylor Severy is a ninth-grader on the girls freshmen basketball team. Taylor’s aggressiveness and intensity has grown immensely since the start of the season. She is the true definition of a silent leader who leads by her actions.
Kevin Shimko is an eleventh-grade student on the boys bowling team. Kevin helped lead his team to match play at this weekend’s tournament in Clinton Township, ringing in a 246 game.
Maddie Harden is a ninth-grader on the girls bowling team. Maddie bowled games of 211 and 187 to help lead her squad to make the cut for match play at this weekend’s tournament.
Chris Chin is a tenth-grader on the boys JV basketball team (also track & field). According to Coach Schneider, Chris is “the model of consistency as a point guard, always solid and reliable defensively.”
Tanmay Patel is a ninth-grader on the boys freshmen basketball team (also soccer). Tanmay was the leading scorer in Plymouth’s win against Wayne Memorial, with a season-high of 14 points. According to Coach Sumpter, Tanmay “works hard in practice and excels in the classroom.”
Jordan Groves, an eleventh-grader on the boys swim & dive team (pictured above), broke the school record in the 6-dive event last week, registering a 213.90, shattering the old record by over 10 points.
Kelsey Peregord is a ninth-grader on the girls JV basketball team (also swim & dive). In this week’s game against Wayne Memorial Kelsey led the Wildcats from the free throw line making 7/10. Kelsey was also one of the leading rebounders, pulling down 4 offensive boards and 5 defensive. Kelsey has come a long way since June and continues to improve each week. Her inside game is starting to become a much needed presence for our team.
Haley Metz, a senior on the gymnastics team (also track & field and National Honor Society), broke the school record in the bars event with a 9.55 en route to the gymnastics team’s season-high score last week.
Kaitlyn Biro is 1 of 3 talented freshman on the varsity cheer team. Kaitlyn not only competes in all 3 rounds but her outstanding skills place her in the front for every round. She has wonderful motions, beautiful jumps and is one of the best tumblers on the team. Kaitlyn works hard everyday, continuing to push her skills to be better and helping her team be the best they can. Kaitlyn helped her team earn the Division championship this week as well as a first place finish at the Bedford Invitational.
Cassidy Lewis, a senior on the girls basketball team (also soccer), scored 16 points to go along with 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks in losing effort against Wayne. Coach Ballard said, “Cass has a terrific all-around game. We ask her to make an impact for our team in all phases of the game. I loved her competitive spirit against Wayne. I’m looking forward to watching her play with that effort the rest of the season.”
