The Wildcats of the Week are the entire varsity football offensive line, the varsity girls golf team, freshmen volleyball player Meredith Luttrell, and sophomore cross country athlete Madelyn Rush.
The varsity girls golf team (pictured above) of Katie Chipman (12), Alaina Strzalka (12), Ariana Strzalka (12), Erin Johnson (10), and Heather Muir (11) all contributed to the Wildcats’ fifth-consecutive MHSAA Regional victory last Thursday, posting the region’s lowest team score and qualifying the team for the MHSAA State Finals on October 16 and 17.
The varsity football offensive line ground it out in the trenches against Canton last Friday, propelling the Wildcats to a convincing 31-20 victory and securing the KLAA South Division championship. Elie Atallah (12), Joe Supernois (11), Michael Jordan (12), Robert Florence (11), and Austin Scheffer (11) played smart, textbook football, opening big gaps for Plymouth’s backs.
Meredith Luttrell, 9th grade volleyball, has been a strong contributor as one of the team’s main setters. She always demonstrates a positive attitude, great work ethic, and has a calming force on the the court. She has also been a consistent server. Meredith is a tireless worker no matter what the game score, and she has done a great job orchestrating our offense by mixing up her sets across our front line. When she steps on the court she gives 100%, and her efforts have definitely helped the freshman team enjoy success this year.
Madelyn Rush is a sophomore member of the Girls Cross Country team. On Saturday, at the Wayne County Championship Meet at Willow Run Metropark, Madelyn ran a personal best of 20:46 while leading her teammates to many outstanding performances.
