The Wildcats of the Week are senior football player Michael Jordan, senior soccer player Andrew Liakos, sophomore cross country athlete Arwa Hararwala, and ninth-grade volleyball player Mary Kliczinski.
Jordan, senior football offensive and defensive lineman (also wrestling, track & field) led an offensive line that helped protect QB Chris Walls and created wide gaps for running backs Cameron Stella and Darius Timmons, leading to 424 total yards of offense for the Wildcats, who defeated Livonia Churchill 24-16. Andrew Liakos, senior soccer defender (also swimming & diving), led his team to three shutouts this week, with the Wildcats defeating Salem 1-0, Wayne 8-0, and John Glenn 4-0.
Hararwala, a tenth grade cross country athlete (also tennis and Student Congress), is commended by cross country coach Alice A’Hearn for her smart race sense, her tremendous work ethic, and for setting her own personal record (PR) with a race of 21:53 at Saturday’s invitational meet.
Kliczinski, an athlete on the ninth-grade volleyball team, is a defensive specialist who has been both playing well and leading her team, regardless of wins or losses this season. Her positive mental attitude and dedication to improving herself sets a good example for her teammates.
