This week’s Wildcats of the Week are senior volleyball setter Daniella Barile, sophomore cheer flyer Kaitlynn Roulin, and senior soccer striker Jayden Huxtable.
Huxtable (senior, soccer, forward) scored a pair of goals on his 17th birthday last week to lead the Wildcats (2-0 in regular games) past Novi. Coach Neschich states that Huxtable “…has really turned it up since the Balconi tournament, and together with our other starting forward Mike Blake, is making it hard for defenses.” (pictured above–photo JK Portraits)
Roulin (sophomore, cheer, flyer) is helping lead the youthful Wildcats sideline cheer team. About Kaitlynn’s efforts, Coach Koehler says, “Roulin has worked hard all summer long perfecting her skills and chants for our first football game. She has spent countless hours after practice to ensure she is ready to shine on the sidelines! She has worked really hard all season long to be the best she can be!”
Barile (senior, volleyball, setter) has been instrumental both in her role on the court and as a leader for the Wildcats volleyball team. Barile, helped by all her teammates, led the team to a solid tournament at Macomb Dakota this past Saturday, defeating perennial power Marian. Coach Nichols says, “The whole team played well, with Jordan Schamp and Jordyn Kuchka putting up good numbers, Charlie Irvin playing well at libero, and Daniella providing solid stats and great leadership throughout the early season.”
