Baseball player Owen Spryszak, softball player Jenny Bressler, and soccer freshman Madelyn Rush are Plymouth’s Wildcats of the Week.
Spryszak (junior, also DECA and Student Council) pitched a complete game against Fraser on Saturday in the Grosse Pointe South Invitational, helping the Wildcats to a 1-0 win with 11 strikeouts. Plymouth went on to win the tournament.
Bressler (freshman, also Volleyball) went 4 for 7 at bat in the two KLAA playoff games. She also earned the win as a pitcher vs. Novi in the conference championship game, allowing 3 runs on 11 hits, striking out 4. Against Lakeland in the KLAA championship game, Bressler came to the mound mid-game, faced 14 batters, struck out 1, and allowed only 3 hits, holding Lakeland scoreless during her 3 1/3 innings.
Rush (freshman, also Cross Country) has worked hard this season, and is now in the Wildcats’ starting lineup. Rush has contributed heavily to a defense that is expected to carry the Wildcats in the MHSAA district tournament this week.
