This week’s Wildcats of the Week are track athletes Matthew Pahl, Kayla Janevski, and Jewel Davis.
Senior Matt Pahl, who has the Plymouth school record in Cross Country, broke the Plymouth and PCEP records in the 3200 meter run on Friday at the Saline Golden Triangle Meet. Pahl’s time of 9:29.27 (fully automatic time) bests the old record of 9:29.3, set by Salem athlete Justin Hajduk in 2003.
Senior Kayla Janevski (also gymnastics) tied her personal record (PR) in the Pole Vault in the Warrior Classic at Woodhaven HS with jump of 11′ 0″. Janevski, who was an all-state pole vaulter for the Wildcats in 2014, currently is ranked 8th in the state in Division 1.
time is .03 from breaking the school record. Friday at the Golden Triangle Meet in Saline, she ran a 58.72 second 400 meter dash, the 3rd fastest time in school history, and helped the 800 meter relay team to a 1:44.78, the 7th fastest time in the state in the event.
