Emily Welch (pictured above), a senior on the gymnastics team (also track & field and Screenshot 2016-02-28 at 10.31.56 AMNational Honor Society), earned an outstanding third-place finish in the Division 2 Bars event at the Kensington Lakes Activities Association Championship last week in Walled Lake.

Cathryn Vandenbosh, a junior on the PCEP Penguins girls ice hockey team (also Screenshot 2016-02-28 at 10.53.19 AMlacrosse), scored a hat trick in the Penguins’ 8-0 route of Northville on Friday evening.

Lauren Allen, co-captain of the JV girls basketball team, is named Wildcat of the Week by Screenshot 2016-02-28 at 8.15.58 PMCoach Flaherty.  “Lauren’s defense is what contributed to our win over Waterford Mott Friday evening.  Her presence on the floor was missed while she was out of town and I can speak for our squad that we were glad to have her back.  Lauren plays big minutes when in the game and always works hard flying around on defense to guard some of the best players we face during the season,”  Coach Flaherty stated.  This week Lauren had 14 points, 6 steals and 6 rebounds.

Devon Wisniewski (freshmen basketball) played a major role in the teams victories against Screenshot 2016-02-28 at 8.14.23 PMWalled Lake Northern and Milford.  He played solid defense, helped the team handle the defensive pressure of Northern and is a very unselfish passer on the offensive end.  Was the 2nd leading scorer in the win against Milford with 9 points.  Great teammate, one of the hardest workers in practice, and a great student!

Dylan Dwyer (wrestling, also soccer) fought through a painful injury to place fourth at Screenshot 2016-02-28 at 8.12.51 PMindividual regionals and qualify for the state meet. Dylan defines the word “grit,” as he persevered through two potentially season-ending injuries to still achieve many of his goals this season.

Robert Florence (varsity basketball, also football, track & field) had four rebounds and two Screenshot 2015-10-11 at 11.03.29 AMblocked shots in two games this week.  Robert played with inspired energy when he was put into the game.  According to Coach Soukup, Robert is “one of the best teammates I have ever had the pleasure of coaching.”
